WHAT IS CATFESSIONS?

Like Catfessions’ sister site, www.dogfessions.com, Catfessions is a charitable "pet project" for cat lovers who have a secret, a weird fact, or a funny story to share about their best furry friend, but don't quite know who to share it with. We all have secrets about our cats and they’d probably have some confessions to make too if we asked. We think and feel things about our cats that we wouldn't want anyone to know, and often, that we wouldn't even want our cats to know!

I thought it would be fun to know what some of these "cat secrets" were, so I wanted to give people a forum to show the world their secret kitty confessions -- their Catfessions. Catfessions is also a great place for the cats themselves to share their secrets too (through their owners, of course -- you have to help Fluffy with the scissors and glue stick). The Catfessions themselves are decorated 4x6 postcards that include a “cat secret.” A “cat confession.” Get it? See how to make them here.

And as if this isn’t fun enough, $1 for every Catfession received goes to helping homeless cats.

This site is a labor of love and creativity -- please join in to show other cat enthusiasts that they're not alone in their weird, dark, funny, sad, and wonderful confessions about their cats. This site started on a whim and has become a place where cat lovers can chime in about their best furry friends (or even that annoying stray cat next door). Catfessions: noun; A confession concerning felines; a secret in your heart that you'd only share with your cat; or a secret you wouldn't want your cat to ever find out!

QUALIFYING CATFESSIONS DIRECTIONS

Here are the “rules” on qualifying Catfessions -- those that earn $1 toward a rescue or shelter and are entered in the monthly contest. I’m not big on rules so there are just a few:

1. Your Catfession must relate in some way to cats. A cat you currently have, once had, want to have, saw on TV, etc. It can come from a human or a cat (please help your cat with the scissors -- I don’t want any accidents!).

2. Your Catfession must be true or ring true -- if it’s from a cat, assume she’s probably up to something.

3. Your Catfession should be short and succinct. Try to say it in under three sentences. The simpler the better -- and remember, this is a confession, not just a caption.

4. You can say ANYTHING you want in your Catfession. Nobody is going to judge you or your cat!

5. Your Catfession should arrive on a 4x6 postcard, photo, or postcard-sized piece of paper. Both the catfession (the words) and the photo or decoration are on the same side!

6. Please decorate your card. Not artistic? Doesn't matter. It can look as “professional” (ha!) or home made as you’d like. Good on the computer? Make them there. Have scrapbooking supplies? Great!

7. The image you use in your Catfession must be owned by you or you must have permission to use it. Catfession cards become copyright of Catfessions upon receipt.

CATFESSIONS CHARITY CAMPAIGN
